Date: April 21st, 2018 Garment District. Broadway and 40th Street.
About the event: During the NYC’s Car Free Earth Day, the Ice Box Challenge was launched. The boxes are located in the heart of the Garment District, where hub.Brussels / Brussels Invest & Export hosted opening remarks and a live art performance. Olivier Binamé, a well-known Brussels-based street artist, showcased his craft by painting the final touches of his design on the boxes.
There were opening remarks by NYC Department of Transportation, NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, Garment District Alliance, Building Energy Exchange, New York Passive House, and hub.brussels/Brussels Invest & Export.
You can take the challenge on nyc.iceboxchallenge.com/enter to guess how much ice there will be left at the end of the month. Great prizes to be won. Including a trip for two to Brussels, a 1-year Citi Bike membership, Godiva Chocolates, Beer-Tasting for Two at BLX Zoute and many more.
The boxes will be unveiled on May 23th to measure the remaining ice during the Brussels Days in New York.
